SELBY Warriors U10s took an impressive Siddal side to the wire before losing 26-20 in an intense match.

Callum Field followed up his six tries last week with another four this week, but it was not a one-man show.

A superb dummy and offload by Bradley Steele put Field over for his first, and good runs from Conor Gigg and Malachi Brown led to his second.

Billy Branford set up his third, and the fourth came after a super 40-yard run. Field and Steele added goals.

Coaches' choice Jamie Grayley, at full-back, pulled off some try-saving tackles, as did winger Patrick Shaughnessy, and Roy Railton also defended well.

Siddal got their winner five minutes from time with Selby prop Arron Sowden coming close to a last-minute leveller being bundled into touch when charging to the line.

Selby U10s now train indoors at the Brayton Community centre on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6pm to 7pm.

Selby U8s train for their season, which starts at the end of March, on Thursdays at the Brayton Community Centre at 6pm.
