THE 100 per cent record of York FA Under-19s League leaders Fulford was well and truly smashed by second-placed Dunnington.
Dunnington closed the gap at the top to two points with a crushing 4-0 victory, although Fulford still have two games in hand on their nearest rivals.
In the first half, Dunnington were playing against a strong wind but they defended magnificently, with Josh Tattersall and Dan Hall in outstanding form.
There was no score at the interval but, with the wind at their backs in the second half, Dunnington began to dominate.
They took the lead on the hour with a looping header by Hall following a throw-in.
Simon Castle added number two following great play by Robert Chipps on the right.
After a handball, Grant Bulmer scored from the penalty spot and a last-minute strike from Tattersall completed the rout for Dunnington.
Fourth-placed Wigginton Grasshoppers were 3-0 winners over near neighbours New Earswick, who are languishing at the foot of the table.
Grasshoppers dominated the first half of the match and they took the lead on the half hour when the New Earswick goalkeeper misjudged a cross and Danny Lamb headed the ball into an empty net.
Before half-time, Liam Barratt netted following a goalmouth scramble and Lamb finished off a well-worked team move to give Grasshoppers a deserved 3-0 lead at the interval.
The second half was more even, with Ben Eve outstanding for Grasshoppers in midfield, but there was no further scoring.
Easingwold won the toss and decided to play against the wind in their mid-table clash at Poppleton - and it was a decision they were soon to regret.
After 15 minutes, Chris Crawford headed the home side into the lead following a cross from the left.
A second goal followed from Nick Moss and, before half-time, James Atkinson finished off a flowing team move for Poppleton to lead 3-0.
In a more even second half, Easingwold pulled a goal back.
However, the game was virtually killed off midway through the half when Luke Berridge fired a shot into the top corner of the Easingwold net to earn Poppleton a 4-1 win.
