Has Sammy the seal returned?
One looking very similar to Sammy has been seen swimming and fishing in Naburn Lock, York, following heavy rains.
Lock keeper Ken Murray and his partner, Lisa Wykes, spotted the seal.
Lisa said: "We first saw it on Wednesday when it was just swimming around.
"It just swam up the Ouse and back again and wasn't particularly doing anything interesting. Then on Thursday morning we happened to look out of the window and it was right outside the front door and it had caught a pike and it was literally ripping it apart and eating it."
The original Sammy the Seal became a local celebrity in 2002 when he took up residence at Linton Lock, north of York. A seal was also spotted in the River Wharfe, at Tadcaster, last January.
