POLICE are appealing for information about a spate of vandalism attacks in North Yorkshire villages.
A number of vehicles in Aiskew, West Tanfield, Morton-on-Swale and Kirklington had their windows smashed, possibly with the use of a blunt instrument, during the night on Friday, January 11.
Damage was also caused to bus shelters and phone boxes in the villages of North Stainley and West Tanfield.
PC Lee Featherstone, of Bedale Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This was an act of mindless stupidity causing upset, inconvenience and expense to members of the community and we would ask anyone who may have any information relating to the attacks to get in touch.
"We would also like to speak to the occupants of a small dark-coloured car seen in the area on the evening of January 11, who may have information which could help the investigation."
Anyone with any information is asked to phone PC Featherstone on 0845 60 60 247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
