YORK darts ace Chris Thompson's run to the third round of the PDC Stan James Players Championship in Gibraltar was curtailed by Steve Beaton.
Thompson lost 3-0 to Beaton after ousting Colin Lloyd 3-2 in round two and Robert Watson-Lang 3-1 in the opening round.
Fellow York player Martyn Turner beat George Federico 3-0 in round one, only to exit to Andy Jenkins 3-0 at the second hurdle.
John Quantock, the city's third entrant, was a 3-1 first round loser against Kevin McDine.
The tournament was won by Ladbrokes.com World Darts champion John Part, who beat Chris Mason 3-1 in the final.
The following day, the trio competed in the StanJames.com Players Championship at the same venue.
Turner was a first loser, going down 3-1 to Tony Eccles, while Quantock and Thompson both reached round two before exiting.
Quantock, who beat Dave Ladley 3-0 in the opening round, lost 3-2 to Lloyd, while Thompson lost 3-2 to Andy Smith after beating Kevin Hill 3-0.
James Wade was a 3-1 winner over Denis Ovens in the final.
