A NEW single dedicated to our Guardian Angels Appeal has been released - with every penny going straight to the charity.
Months of hard work have paid off for members of the York band Comfort Zone, who will hear their song on the radiowaves for the first time today.
Guardian Angel was written by the band's vocalist, Richard Hardcastle, to support the fundraising campaign of his sister-in-law Karen Hardcastle, who is running the London Marathon in aid of The Press Guardian Angels Appeal.
Karen, 46, of Osbaldwick, in York, is hoping to raise £9,000 - enough money to buy a Cpap ventilator machine for children at York Hospital. She said: "I absolutely love the song and I hope that everybody will buy a copy, because every penny from every sale is going to a really good cause."
Downloads of the single cost £2 and are available by logging on to www.comfortzoneband.com.
CDs are also being sold for £2.50 from the pharmacies in Badger Hill and Dunnington, the WRVS shop at York Hospital, Next Generation Club, in Hull Road, York, Peter Bebb Insurance, in Huntington Road, York, and at the reception of The Press offices, in Walmgate, York.
