While we’ve experienced poor weather recently across the UK in the form of storms and flooding, it’s not over yet with snow also on its way in some areas, including in York.
It's important to be able to prepare for snowfall so, if you're unsure if your area is affected this week, look no further.
We’ve taken a look at the weather forecasts issued by both BBC and the Met Office and here’s what we found.

Will it snow in York this week?
BBC weather
Sleet showers are expected to begin in York at 6am on Thursday February 24 with heavy snow showers starting at 8am continuing until 12pm when York will see light snow showers for one hour, according to the BBC’s weather forecast.
During the snow showers, temperatures will drop to two degrees Celsius at lowest but feel like minus three degrees Celsius.
Met Office
The Met Office says light rain is expected to become heavy snow showers later in the morning of Thursday.
In its Yorkshire & Humber weather forecast, the weather service says Thursday will be “Windy, with occasional blustery wintry showers. However, there will be some brighter spells in-between, these more prevalent in the east. Feeling much colder, especially in the wind. Maximum temperature 6 °C.”
At the weekend, the forecast says: “Dry with sunny spells and light winds on Friday. A frosty start on Saturday, otherwise, dry with sunny spells and turning windier. Cloudier and breezy with some rain Sunday.”
