A MATT finish was applied to a sponsorship deal for Poppleton Junior Football Club's under-12 girls' team.
Minster Decorative Services agreed to back the team and the arrangement was sealed with the help of owner John Hackett and his Dulux' dog, Matt.
Team manager Mike Walshaw said: "We are very pleased with the generous sponsorship provided by Minster Decorators and the kit supplied by Richardson Trading Limited, of Poppleton.
"The cost of providing new kits for all of our teams is a major one for all junior football clubs and the support of local companies is always very welcome and much appreciated."
He added: "'Most of the girls have been together since U10s.
"Their first main season last year saw them come second in the cup and second in the league, and they won a tournament at York RI.
"We are hoping to improve on last year and we are currently second in the league and through to the quarter-finals of the Connexions U12 Cup."
