A WEEKEND of steady scoring earned North Yorkshire golfer Simon Dyson a share of 42nd place in the Qatar Masters in Doha.
Dyson went into the final day yesterday in a tie for 39th place on three-under par for the tournament.
After rounds of 72 and 70 on the opening two days, Dyson carded a 71 after birdies at the fourth and 16th holes.
A bogey on the 11th was the only blot on a consistent round.
He added a second 70 in the final round to finish five-under - 15 shots adrift of winner Adam Scott.
Dyson birdied the par-four second hole and picked up a shot at the sixth to go out in 34. Another birdie at the tenth seemed to signal a last day push, but a birdie at 16 was sandwiched between dropped shots at the 15 and par-five closing hole.
