COMMUTERS faced delays into work today after a motorist smashed into some railings on a busy main road in York.
The driver, who was alone in the 4 x 4 Suzuki, veered into the railings on Tower Street, near the Travelodge, in York City centre at 8.45 this morning.
A North Yorkshire police spokeswoman said: "The accident was a one-vehicle road traffic collision.
"The driver appears to have veered in to the railings leaving the car on the footpath and on the road.
"The driver did not suffer any injuries."
There were minor traffic tailbacks after the crash.
