THE other day a colleague found himself blocked in by a yob in a van.
A polite request to move it was met with a stream of foul-mouthed abuse. A second request met the same fate.
My colleague, although quite capable of felling the yob with one blow, restricted himself to handing out a good shaking. This well-known local trouble-maker complained to the police with his mother and sister as "witnesses". Three policemen arrived at 7am the next day, and my colleague was cautioned.
In spite of requests from local shopkeepers to move on these oiks in the past, the police claim no resources or authority so to do.
May I suggest we disband our now ineffectual uniformed police and let people like me and my colleague sort out these antisocial morons ourselves?
