Selby/Drax Ladies completed the double with a 6-3 away win over Huntington in ladies division one of the York Badminton League.

Michelle Hall and Lisa Ward set the standard once again for Selby with three wins for 143-76. Alison Dinsdale and Angie Spivey picked up the other Drax maximum for 148-124.

Tadcaster 86 Ladies made it three wins in a row with a 6-3 home win over Selby Jubilee in ladies two.

Liz Rowlatt and Alison Ward played well for the home side to record three wins for 126-36.

University Students men's A' team moved into top spot in men's division one after an 8-1 home win over Shepherds.

Jonty Hiley and Ricky Kanabar picked up the campus maximum for a total of 127-67. They were well supported by Will Wiseman and Paddy Clarke, who also took all three for 144-106.

York RI B' Colts finally opened their account in men's three with an 8-1 win over RI Tuesday/Thursday C' and Terry's.

The Institute juniors were helped by the experience of York's oldest' Colts, Peter Howes and Paul Turner, who provided the impetus.

Howes, partnered by Ben Black, took all three against Terry's to return 126-55, while Turner and Ben Wheeler topped the Colts' return against Tuesday/Thursday C' with a total of 128-87.

Luckless Terry's suffered a further reverse when they visited Knavesmire and went down 9-0. John Major and Alastair Jewison scored their best return so far this season with three straight wins for 126-74.

Riverside A' made it three from six in mixed one with a 5-4 home win over Clifton A'.

The return of the Riverside teenage stars, Natalie Jones and Alex Fowler, made the difference with the match-winning maximum for a total of 146-118, including a tough 19-21, 21-19, 22-20 win over top Clifton pair, George Noble and Karen Broster.

Clifton C' gained revenge for an earlier defeat when they beat Huntington A' 6-3 at St Peter's School.

Ian Saddler and Gerry Screeton kept on the winning trail with the vital home maximum for a total of 140-97, although they were pushed hard by Bev Tebbutt and Clive Debenham before winning 14-21, 21-10, 21-19.

Riverside B' made it a good week for the club with a 7-2 win at Nestlé Rowntree B' in mixed three.

Ian Turner and Gillian King took both Confectionery wins but lost out 19-21, 20-22 to Sue Sharp and Ian McInvoy, who took all three for the visitors in a total of 144-106.

RI Tuesday/Thursday B' hit good home form to beat Huntington B' 6-3 in mixed four.

Brian Morley and Marlene Woodward headed the Institute averages with three wins for 143-113, which included a 14 and 11 over Barry Johnson and Margaret Chamber, who took two Huntington wins.

Shepherds B' are four from six after a 5-4 home win over a lively University Staff team in mixed four. Dave Byrum and Jane Severn sealed the home win with a ninth rubber 21-17, 21-16 success over Susan Scott and Shafiq Amred.
