I WOULD like to reply to Collin S Jeffery (Readers' Letters, January 20).
I believe our Royal Family is a very important part of Britain; this is mainly due to Queen Elizabeth II being a fantastic head of state.
The fact that our monarchy dates back many years, and is one of the few monarchies left, also has an influence on our society.
Mr Jeffery states that many people who contribute letters to The Press are very sensitive of the monarchy. Why shouldn't we regard it highly if it is important to us?
No one knows what the future holds, one day our country may become a republic, but it will be a very sad day if such an event comes to fruition.
