TALENTED young musicians from a York private school have scooped a host of prestigious awards.
Bootham School musicians have won four out of the eight Dimbleby Trophies at the recent Catrine Basil Awards Music Festival held in Sidcot, Somerset.
The trophies were for Best Original Composition won by Katie and Sarah Feehan; String Solo won by Sally Perkins; Brass Solo won by Anna Hillary and Bootham Beaux and Belles took the trophy for Best Ensemble.
All the prize winners will be invited to participate in a Gala Concert at St George's Hall, Bristol - a highly prestigious venue in the classical music world - later in the year.
Bootham's director of music, Paul Feehan, said, "I'm absolutely delighted. This is an outstanding result for a competition where standards have risen consistently, year on year. Well done to all!"
