RESIDENTS of North Yorkshire who are over 50 are being asked to take part in a meeting on the subject of climate change.
Focus group meetings, entitled Climate Change: How Can I Make a Difference? will be held throughout the day from 10am to 7pm on Wednesday, 20 February, at the Hilton Hotel, in York. There will be free refreshments and volunteers will receive £10 as a contribution to travel costs.
Dr Gary Haq, co-ordinator of Climate Talk, said: "We would like to learn more about what this age group thinks when it comes to taking action to reduce the impact on climate change. What issues are important to them with regard to food, transport, energy and what prevents them from taking action."
The aim is for the focus groups to contribute to a regional survey which is examining the attitudes of the over-50s to climate change.
