Make It York is calling out for visual artists, print makers, and designers to create a bespoke bauble design to celebrate the 30th anniversary of York’s St Nicholas Fair with a prize of £500 up for grabs.
A staple in York’s streets over the festive period since 1992, this year's St Nicholas Fair will feature a special limited run of porcelain baubles with the winning design to celebrate this exciting milestone.
Rated in the top ten Christmas Markets in the UK, the five-week St Nicholas Fair features over sixty alpine chalets lining the streets of Parliament Street and St Sampsons Square.
The theme for the design is 'A York Christmas', with artists invited to submit designs around this theme which can be traditional, contemporary or give a fresh interpretation.
Artists can enter by completing a form on the Make It York website by 12 noon on August 5.
The website also has full design specifications of the competition and further details of the fair.
People can also email Make It York: culture@makeityork.com.
