A PRIMARY school has been crowned the overall winners of the STAR MAT Sports Cup - which more than 100 pupils took part in.
Year 5 children from across nine local primary schools came together last week to take part in a special sporting event which saw them compete in a range of athletics themed activities including hurdles, standing long jump and the 70m sprint.
Organised by The STAR MAT, a multi-academy trust made up of eleven schools in Sherburn, Tadcaster and Selby, pupils attended the event at Tadcaster Grammar School.
Brayton CE Primary were crowned the overall winners and presented with the STAR MAT Sports Cup.
Ian Yapp, CEO of STAR MAT, said: “This was an incredibly special event which saw pupils from across the trust come together for the first time in more than two years because of the pandemic.
"A big well done to all of the pupils and special congratulations to Brayton CE Primary."
