THREE teenagers have been killed in a crash on a country road in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police said the collision happened at about 11pm last night on the B6268 Masham Road near Thornton Watlass, Bedale.
"Sadly three passengers within the vehicle, a 17-year-old man and two 18-year-old men, have died as a result of their injuries," said a spokesperson.
"The 18-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries and is being treated in hospital."
They said their a grey Alfa Romeo car was travelling from Bedale towards High Burton when the crash happened.
"At this stage, we don't believe any other vehicles were involved," they said.
"We're appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the vehicle in the area prior to the collision or anyone with dashcam footage or other info that could help the investigation.

Family and friends of the three crash victims have been to the scene this morning to lay floral tributes at the scene on Masham Road, near Thornton Watlass.
Debris, oil, and sand can still be seen on the crash site, while nine bunches of flowers can be seen laid at the foot of a tree next to where the car came to a standstill.
People have also been taking to social media to leave messages of unity and support for the families of those involved, alongside support for the police investigating the horrific case.
One person posted: "Heartbreaking news. I sincerely hope that the emergency service workers who attended the scene (many of whom will have their own teenage family members) seek and get the help they need after dealing with this. The driver and the families will hopefully also get the necessary support. Such a waste of young lives."
Another said: "How awful, my thoughts go out to the families of all 4 boys and the emergency crews in attendance. What a tragic loss."
