HUNDREDS of proud students gathered to receive their degrees at the University of York.
Smartly-dressed students - mostly on postgraduate masters and PhD courses - gathered at Central Hall to mark years of academic achievement yesterday.
University graduation takes place twice a year, in March and July.
Some 600 people were conferred at yesterday's ceremony, rather less than the 3,000 who will graduate at the main summer ceremony.
