CULT indie stalwarts Boy Kill Boy take it nice and steady with their second record.
Listeners of debut Civilian may be expecting another 11 tracks of slash and thrash, but they would be mistaken - this is as melodic as it comes. Last time around, Boy Kill Boy were sustained by two powerhouse singles, Suzie and Civil Sin.
Stars And The Sea doesn't have the instant catchy hooks of those two, but overall it's a better record, even though it is unlikely to propel them any further into the limelight. Paris and A OK stand out, single Promises locks into your brain, while No Conversation retains a glimpse of the old guitar power.
Fans will love its different approach and its confident delivery. And for the rest, it's a chance to discover a hugely talented band, who really should be on the up.
