WATER is gushing out from a pavement in a village near York, following a burst pipe.
The huge water leak has happened in Elvington.
"The pavement looks a bit cracked, with water gushing out," said a reliable source.
They said the burst had happened in the main road through the village, just south of White House Grove, at the northern end of Elvington.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson told The Press: "Our teams are on their way to fix a burst pipe in Elvington.
"Some customers may experience low water pressure or no water whilst we work to fix the issue.”
Water mains in the York area have been affected by a series of bursts over the summer months, caused partially by the intense heatwaves and surging demand for water.
One of the bursts in Wigginton Road, near York Hospital, caused its closure, with traffic facing lengthy diversions.
