UPDATE: Man in hospital with serious injuries after incident in York suburb
A police cordon is in place in a York suburb.
Police officers are on the scene in Acomb with the cordon in place at the junction of Beech Grove and York Road.
A photograph taken from the scene shows the cordon across the road from Specsavers.
Residents have reported on social media that the cordon has been in place since the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, October 11).
Roads in the area remain open.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 2.55am this morning (Wednesday, October 11) North Yorkshire Police received a call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service after a man was found with serious injuries in York.
"The incident occurred on Beech Grove near to the Halifax Bank.
"The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital by paramedics where he remains.
"His family have been informed.
"Although enquiries into the incident are ongoing, at this stage in the investigation, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
