A MAN has been arrested following a break-in at a York retailer.
As The Press reported earlier today, Ernest Jones in Coney Street was taped off by the police.
North Yorkshire Police now says it received a call at 6am today (October 25) after reports that the jewellers had its window smashed.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended immediately, and within 20 minutes a 40-year-old man was located and stopped nearby.
"He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and remains in custody at this time.
"A number of suspected stolen watches were recovered. Enquiries are ongoing."
