Midnight tonight in York will be warm and windy and possibly wet, according to the Met Office.
Its forecast for the city for the moment the year changes from 2023 to 2024 is an average wind speed of 12 mph with gusts of up to 24 mph and a 10 per cent chance of rain.
The temperature is expected to be an unseasonal 7 degrees Centigrade, but with the strong wind is likely to feel like 3 degrees Centigrade.
The run-up to midnight is likely to be wetter with rain forecast from 6pm onwards, easing as 2024 approaches. In contrast , the wind will gradually increase as the evening progresses.
