DRIVERS have been urged to avoid a major road in North Yorkshire following a serious crash.
North Yorkshire Police say the incident happened at 1.45pm today (January 8) on the A19 to the south of Easingwold.
The incident involved two vehicles, drivers are told to follow diversions until further notice.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called at about 1.53pm today (January 8) to Forest Lane at Alne close to the A19.
A service spokesman said: "Crews from Acomb, Boroughbridge and Huntington responded to a report of a serious crash.
"We assisted ambulance crews to extricate a casualty from one vehicle and made all vehicles safe before leaving the incident with the police."
