The council said the pavement in Blake Street will be open and Blue Badge holders can use Goodramgate.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We understand that closing Blake Street to vehicles is inconvenient for our customers.
"This closure is necessary so our teams can safely carry out sewer repairs to keep the network flowing smoothly.
"We’re aiming to have everything wrapped up by 6pm on Saturday 29th June, and would like to thank our customers for their patience while we carry out this work."
Blake Street was closed to vehicles earlier this year for the installation of anti-terrorism bollards by the council.
