A “romantic” fisherman’s cottage in North Yorkshire “hidden” down a cobbled street in a quaint coastal village has been recommended by The Times for a relaxing getaway by the sea.
The publisher praised Oakridge Cottage in Robin Hood’s Bay which was named among the UK’s best beach retreats to escape to this summer.
The Times commented on its secluded beach cottages guide: “Few of us can resist the allure of the sea and the romance of staying in a secluded waterside cottage just steps away from the sand.
“Luckily, there are countless places to hole up in along the UK’s 7,000 or so miles of coastline.
“We’ve picked some of the best seaside retreats for splendid isolation, from cosy cottages beside the surf to former lighthouse keepers’ homes.”
