DUE to the police being unable to use water cannon in this country (allowed in Northern Ireland) they are denied a cheap and simple way of identifying rioters: fill the cannon with an indelible dye and spray everyone then at a later, safer time, arrest anyone covered in the dye; they would not be able (as now) to deny being at the scene.
Think of the time and money saved for the police and courts.

Some thoughts on the recent riots in the UK
MY thought on the riots:
(1) Talk of "civil war" in the UK has to be an overreaction to current disturbances, but those in authority would be naive to dismiss it as "right wing" fantasy.
For at least three decades successive governments have considered the views of the silent majority as unworthy of attention.
What the "chickens" who roost on Westminster green benches don't realise is the normally docile indigenous "foxes" are multiplying by the day for very good reason: enough is enough of mass immigration.
(2) Some 4,000 illegal immigrants have arrived since Labour came to power. Its not new houses we need, Angela Raynor should be planning for more 3* hotels to be built.

Riots are caused by small boats issue
WHILE people applaud the stance against the left-wing rioters this was the doing of the General public using common sense.
The government has done nothing to solve the problem apart from putting police officers in danger.
The cause of the problem is the number of boats landing on our shores that are mainly filled with financial migrants and not genuine refugees.
The government give themselves praise for the lull in the rioting but have done nothing. If they cannot come up with a solution the troubles will start again.

Who is responsible for the vandalism in York?
THE torching of the ’bug house’ at the community trail alongside the River Foss is deplorable -100 attacks in four years is a depressing indictment of our fractured society.
So just who is responsible for this arson? Is it the same vandals as before or is this the work of the Fairy Right?

Weird is the word
SO the US Democrats are applying the word weird to J D Vance, Donald Trump’s vice-presidential choice. Note that it’s not accompanied by wonderful.
It’s evidently a word of great ‘fettling’ power that’s being deployed by the Democratic vice-presidential hopeful Tim Walz.
To me it’s the equivalent of being slapped in the face with a wet fish!
I’ve a weird feeling that come November we’ll be sick and tired of the word.
Weird seems to lack punch; tame really, a bit like their donkey mascot, but weirdly a major weapon in their armoury which reputedly has quite a kick.
Nevertheless, I’m backing the donkey over the elephant. ‘Yeehaw!’ or words to that effect.
