A YORK vet practice celebrated a thousand guests being entertained and entering their four-legged friends in fun classes and meeting up at a summer show.
Tower Vets held its second Dog Fête on Saturday (August 10) and one the organisers, Lucy Wood, said it was a fantastic day all round.

Lucy said: “A lot of the stallholders said that of the thousand or so people who passed through, it felt like everyone brought at least one dog.”
Popular events included the tail-wagging display team in the main arena, with owners spinning around to music with their pets.
Lucy added that judges said it was almost impossible to choose from the 25 or so obedient puppies in one of the classifications.
The breed groups were set up to allow owners to share top-tips and ideas, and hopefully to arrange shared walks.
Funds raised at the event were in aid of Support Dogs UK, a charity that supports children and adults affected by autism, epilepsy and disability.
One of their seizure alert dogs, Derek, was another star of the show.
He is one of the charity’s specially trained dogs, who can provide potentially life-saving warnings of up to one hour prior to an epileptic seizure.
