POLICE are trying to trace a man they believe asked for a refund at a popular North Yorkshire DIY store for items that he has taken off the shelf and not bought.
North Yorkshire Police has issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following an attempted fraud on July 19 at B&Q in Oak Beck Road, Harrogate, and which involved a man entering the store and requesting a refund for items that he has taken off the shelf and not purchased.
A police spokesman said: "The fraud was identified after a credit note was issued and CCTV footage was reviewed.
"Please contact us if you recognise the man pictured on CCTV, as he may have information that will assist our investigation."
