What’s the best bakery in York? That’s the question The Press is asking readers as we launch our latest competition celebrating the best of the best in the city.
Whether it be your Saturday morning meeting spots or the trusty community staples that have stood the test of time – we want to hear which is your favourite.
Nominations for the Best Bakery competition open today (Monday, August 19) and close on Sunday (August 25).
If you want your favourite to be in with a shot, nominate them here.
We’ll share a top 10 list next week after nominations close.
Every bakery on the list will be featured online and in print, giving you the chance to see what makes each one so special.
Nigel Burton, editor of The Press, said: “Bakeries play an important role in York’s community. From freshly baked loafs in the morning to slices of cake in the afternoon, they brighten up our days.
“The Press wants to celebrate the people behind these businesses, who work hard to keep them here.
“That’s why we’re launching this competition to recognise the best of the best.
“Over the coming weeks we’ll bring you updates on the bakeries in our competition, so keep an eye out and see if your favourite is featured.”
