Did they really have to knock down Swinson House?
THE Press has the headline: Hometel now set for 2026 opening about the new hotel planned for the former site of Swinson House in Piccadilly.
The artist’s impression shows a building that reminds me (superficially) of "what’s its name"…Swinson House. That’s it!
As an unqualified casual observer, though a ‘Yorkie original’, the thought has occurred to me: couldn’t Swinson House have been adapted and upgraded to achieve a similar effect and standard for the intended purpose?

Was it necessary to knock down the building where I got my first job, thereby sounding…the Swinson swansong? Just asking?
