An agricultural show returned to a North Yorkshire village – and was hailed a success by its organisers.

Crowds flocked to the Rosedale Show, in Rosedale Abbey, on Saturday (August 17).

It was the second time the show, held in Milburn Field behind the Milburn Arms Hotel, took place in its full form since before the pandemic.

Patrick Chambers, a show committee member, said people were pleased to see the show returning for another year.

“The show went off very well, with the weather gods smiling on us this year and early estimates showing an increased attendance over last year,” he explained.

“The new show rings layout was a success and the increased space provided for the industrial and craft sections also produced higher entries.”

As the Gazette & Herald reported at the time, last year’s show celebrated its 150th anniversary, which would have been in 2021 when Covid prevented the event from going ahead.

Preparations are already underway for next year, Patrick said, with organisers hoping to build on the success of this year’s event.

The 2025 Rosedale Show will take place on Saturday, August 16.
