Tesco has announced that it is once again increasing the price of its popular lunchtime meal deals after making changes to the ingredients used.
From Thursday, August 22, the price of the standard meal deal will rise from £3.40 to £3.60 for Clubcard members.
Those without Clubcards will have to pay £4 if they want a meal deal, rising from the current £3.90.
Tesco makes improvements to its popular meal deal offering
The supermarket giant states that it decided to pursue this move after making several improvements to the quality of its meal deal offering.
For example, it has recently opted to use cheddar matured for a longer period of time for a stronger taste and decided to use plum tomatoes for extra sweetness.
Tesco has also developed and launched seven new salads as part of its meal deal offering.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "Clubcard members will pay just £3.60 for a main, snack, and drink, meaning our meal deal remains great value and the ideal way to grab lunch on the go.

The price of a premium meal will remain at £5 for Clubcard holders and £5.50 for those without the popular loyalty card.
This is the second time in two years that the popular Tesco meal deal has gone up in price for both Clubcard members and regular store customers.
