15 photos of music superstars at York Barbican over the years
DO you have a favourite gig at York Barbican?
The city-centre venue has welcomed to its stage scores of musical superstars over the years.
Talent such as Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Paolo Nutini and Paloma Faith are just some of the big names who have drawn crowds to the venue over the years.
Readers will recall how York people fought to save the Barbican as a venue.
The entire leisure site was under threat when it closed in 2004 and its swimming pool was demolished.
But since it re-opened in 2011 with a £1.5 million refurbishment, its auditorium has been used as an entertainment venue and as a base for the annual UK Snooker Championships.
