Students at a top school in York have been celebrating their successes at GCSE results day.

Archbishop Holgate’s CE School in Badger Hill, York, had a range of GCSE and BTEC qualifications to be proud of today (August 22).

The school revealed that 82 per cent of students passed their English GCSE, and 75 per cent passed their maths GCSE.

Miss Deacon, head of year 11, said: "It has been fantastic to celebrate the GCSE results with our students and their families today, and to see so many of them delighted with their outcomes.

"As they progress onto Sixth Form, an apprenticeship or employment I hope they take with them all they have learned and experienced during their time at Archbishop Holgate’s.

"They should be rightly proud of all their success and achievements, and on behalf of the Year 11 pastoral team, I wish them every success in the future."

Mrs De Lashley, head of sixth form added: "We are delighted with the achievements of our students and the opportunities for their future progression.

"Most students joining the Sixth Form will be looking forward to starting their A Levels or Level 3 BTECs very soon.

"We are always delighted to welcome so many ambitious and hard-working students back into our outstanding Sixth Form."
