The first Great York Garden Party in shaping up to be a success.
The event is on Sunday at the 14th Century Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in Fossgate.
Organisers York-based events company Noble Happenings promise live music, comedy, entertainment, and what promises to be the best of British hospitality.
Guests will arrive to a glass of chilled sparkling wine accompanied by quintessentially English strawberries and cream.

There will be artisan stalls and food, including food from renowned delicatessen Love Cheese.
Entertainment includes York music star Mia Kirkland, a string quartet and York Latino Band and there will be croquet.
Ashley Mason, Director of Noble Happenings, said: “Our first Great York Garden Party is shaping up to be a great event. There’s a fantastic line-up of local entertainment, quality food and drink. The weather is also set to be dry.”
Some 130 tickets have been sold already, with a few dozen spaces still available, with some sales at the door, as well as online.
The garden party follows a hugely successful black tie New Year’s Eve Ball, which took place at the York Assembly Rooms. This year’s New Year’s Eve Ball, like the garden party, will also be at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall.
