AN investigation is underway after a fire in a York suburb.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Acomb and York were called out just before 5am this morning (August 26) after reports of a large fire next to a commercial building.
A spokesperson for the service said:” On arrival, crews found wooden pellets on fire next to a silo.
“Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and main jet.
“Crews also used the Ariel ladder platform appliance to extinguish the fire from above.
“A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots to the nearby building which was unaffected by the fire.
“The incident was left in the hands of onsite staff and our fire investigation officer to determine a cause.”
