Bridlington, situated around 40 miles from York by car was praised by The Telegraph for “striking the perfect balance” between old and new as well as its "magnificent" Old Town.

The area was named among four other top locations in UK including Worthing in West Sussex and Weymouth in Dorset.

The publisher commented on its property guide: “When it comes to deciding where to live in retirement, it could be an attractive option to move to the coast. With the quieter, more relaxed lifestyle on offer, the change to a new environment with beautiful scenery could be right for you.”
