THE roof had to be taken off a vehicle after a crash in North Yorkshire.

The county's Fire and Rescue Service say they were called out shortly before noon today (August 29) after reports of a crash in Harrogate.

A service spokesman said: "Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended a road traffic collision between two vehicles.

"They used specialist equipment to remove the roof from a vehicle and helped paramedics to extricate a casualty. The casualty was taken to hospital for checks."
