Kate, 28, from Rawcliffe, said as well as fundraising for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the event highlighted the spirit of shared challenges with fourteen people joining in the effort.
She said: “There were people we know and have seen from the gym, some of our personal trainer’s clients, and some we know from following on social media.
“I think that’s always been a key part of Fundraising Friends – as well as raising money - to show and share the enjoyment of exercising together, so it was really nice to see so many people, many of whom ran multiple legs and then came back to mine for pizza.”
Jess, 25, who is from Newton upon Derwent, and Adrián Villaseñor completed all seven legs, with 12 others tackling one, two or three legs, including Kate's parents.
Phoebe the miniature dachshund and Pedro the Hungarian visla also helped the group get through the miles around Rawcliffe and Clifton Moor, with the 2am to 6am leg shifting to a local gym.
So far, the Fundraising Friends ‘4x4x24’ challenge has raised £1,131 for the Yorkshire air ambulance and in total, since Jess and Kate founded the group, over £16,000 has been raised for good causes.
