A POPULAR retailer has announced plans to expand in York City Centre.
Cosmetics shop Lush has put in a planning application for a new site in York city centre this week at the former Mappin & Webb store at 52 Coney Street.
Plans released include drawings for illuminated shop signage that is set to replace the current signs which were left behind by the former tenants.

Lush also plans to include a hanging sign from the side of the shop – the same as the one located on its current Coney Street store.
The store will be moved as part of the Coney Street Riverside redevelopment.
The building’s listing on estate agent Stapleton Waterhouse’s website says: "This attractive grade II listed corner retail unit is arranged over a basement, ground, first, and second floors; it has an open-plan sales area with excellent corner display windows and entrance which provide an extensive street frontage."
Prior to its time as a jeweller, the building was first built for use as a tailor's.
It offers 5,242 sq ft of space over four floors and costs £125,000 per annum.
