The Northern Lights have been captured once again in North Yorkshire.

Nicole Carr and Simon Scott of Astro Dog - a group of "celestial adventurers" - caught the Aurora Borealis on camera at 11.23pm last night (August 30).

After hearing the aurora may be visible, they headed out from their hometown of Scarborough, to the Scalby Mills cliffs.

The pair from Astro Dogs explained their evening of capturing the aurora.

They said: "We ventured out at around 10pm last night after giving the heads up on our Facebook page that there was a possibility of Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.

"We were rewarded with a lovely display of the Northern Lights that lasted all the way throughout the night.

"The aurora was dancing and at certain points the entire sky was lit up with pink on our camera screen, there were even bright and distinct pillars of light visible to our naked eyes during the more intense flurries.

"We were very excited to witness and capture this display and continued capturing photographs until the early hours around 5.45am before we headed home.

"A long and cold evening, however it was more than worth it."

The Astro Dog team will also be releasing a time-lapsed video of the aurora from the full night.
