A MAN and a woman have been arrested following a concert in North Yorkshire.
The pair, both from Barnsley, were arrested on Thursday night (August 29) in Peasholm Gap in Scarborough.
A police spokesman said: “Following an outburst at officers outside of the Becky Hill concert at the Open Air Theatre, the man was warned about his behaviour.
“Unfortunately, as he escalated his abuse towards police and the community, he was arrested for a racially aggravated public order offence.
“The 28-year-old has been released on bail until November 2024.
“The woman, also 28, was given a warning in relation to her behaviour. Her continuous shouting and swearing resulted in her being arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
“During the arrest, she then bit one of our officers, resulting in a further arrest for assaulting an emergency worker.
“The woman has been charged to attend Scarborough Magistrates Court on September 16.”
