A PERSON has been hit by a train in North Yorkshire.
LNER say the incident happened this morning near Northallerton and the East Coast Mainline has since reopened but delays remain.

A spokesman said: "It is with great sadness that we report that the lines at Northallerton are blocked due to a person being hit by a train.
"Please bear with us, we will update the website once we have any updates."

Services were at a stand still on Transpennine Express, CrossCountry and London North Eastern Railway between Northallerton and Thirsk due to emergency services dealing with the incident.
It was affecting services on Lumo.
