A COMMUNITY sports venue in North Yorkshire has received two ‘significant’ upgrades.
Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool has been upgraded – promising ‘to enhance both accessibility and sustainability’ for all its swimmers.
Brand-new access steps into the main pool have been installed at the facility in Westgate along with pool covers for both of the swimming pools.
The steps, put in thanks to legacy donations from two individuals are designed to make entering and exiting the pool easier than traditional vertical ladders.
The covers are set to ‘revolutionize’ the way the centre manages energy and operational costs.
Funding for the efficiency creating covers came from Sport England through its Swimming Pool Support Fund.
Facility manager Chris Hirst said "With these upgrades, our community pool is now better equipped to serve everyone more effectively.
“The improvements are also investments in the comfort, accessibility, and sustainability of our local swimming facilities.”
