TWO teenagers have been arrested in a North Yorkshire town for drugs and weapons offences, said police.
North Yorkshire Police said officers made the arrest in Volta Street in Selby yesterday morning (Sunday, September 15).
A spokesperson for the force said a search of the property found a lock knife, a knuckle-duster and a quantity of brown wraps which it suspected to be a class A drug.
One 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, both from the West Midlands, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
The spokesperson said: “Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing team were on routine enquiries at the property.
“As officers entered two people very quickly ran out of a downstairs room and into another room but our team acted swiftly and quickly detained them.
“Both men were later released with bail conditions which prevent them from entering North Yorkshire.“
