FLAMES have been seen bursting from a manhole in a York suburb.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called in at 3.40pm today (September 16) after reports of a fire in the street.

A service spokesman said: "Crews from Acomb responded to smoke and flames from an electrical circuit under a manhole cover.
"They extinguished the fire and the incident was left with Northern Power Grid."
