Outbuildings caught fire in a North Yorkshire town with the flames spreading to nearby gas cylinders, the fire service said.

Firefighters rushed to the scene in Harrogate at 11.40pm on Saturday (September 21).

The blaze was behind a property in the town, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said, adding that there had been “multiple calls” reporting it.

“On arrival crews found a number of outbuildings on fire with some gas cylinders involved,” a fire service spokesperson said.

“Crew extinguished the fire to the outbuildings using a hose reel jet and used a further jet to cool the cylinder involved in the fire.”
