Another new pub is set to open shortly in Harrogate town centre.
The Mayfair Pub Kitchen is coming to 33-35 Parliament Street, opposite the closed Debenham’s department store.
A sign has been erected in the empty premises proclaiming: “We are on our way – food available daily” as work begins on alterations.
The Mayfair Pub Kitchen is part of a small, but growing chain created by Newcastle-based Newgate Pubs and Bars, the venture led by former Cameron’s Brewery pub estates and operations director Joe Smith.

After opening the first pub in Newcastle in 2019, earlier this year Newgate opened a second Mayfair Pub Kitchen venue in Doncaster. Harrogate will be its third outlet.
The pubs have a sports focus and also serves food daily, specialising in pizza, pasta and bar bits, vegan options, a tea room, plus cocktails. They also offer live music and deejays.
No firm dates have been given yet for the planned opening, though a recent report in the trade press suggested November.
Newgate Pubs and Bars has already applied for a premises licence.
News of the Mayfair Pub Kitchen coming to Harrogate follows Katie O’Brien’s, an Irish pub chain, also announcing plans to open a venue in the spa town, as reported by the Press, though it has not yet revealed an opening date or location.
